Very nice video Gerry. I'd love to sail down the Clyde on her sometime. Thanks for your message - so pleased to hear about your music, I'd love to know which ones you bought and if you like them!
Hi Jane, I sailed doon the water twice this year,it was very enjoyable, the second time was to see the QM2,the weather was atrocious. It was still worth it,its hard to believe that not so long ago paddle steamers raced down the Clyde!
I bought MARA by Run Rig,most enjoyable and quite ambient in places which I dint expect.
The Andy Stewart was a cheap supermarket compilation, may buy the real deal some time as there was a couple of songs on it that I enjoyed.
Thanks Gerry, sounds interesting - I've heard some of the tracks on Runrig's Mara, a good mix of music I think, all with a nice sea/river connection of course.
I like many of Andy Stewart's songs although it's not fashionable to say so these days, especially A Scottish Soldier, and The Lochside as I mentioned in the blog about Loch Loskin.
I have no special knowledge of shipping matters, there are other sites which will give you the low down on all the technical stuff. I am just an amateur photographer who enjoys taking photographs of ships and boats,The Firth of Clyde is a tremendously scenic place and I hope some of this comes through in my photographs.
