Photographs of The Clyde,
Saturday, 1 January 2011
The bottom photograph shows the small keep which stands about 61 meters up the eastern side. The castle has three storeys and was built by the Hamilton family in the late 1500's, after Philip of Spain tried to capture the island for himself.
I have no special knowledge of shipping matters, there are other sites which will give you the low down on all the technical stuff. I am just an amateur photographer who enjoys taking photographs of ships and boats,The Firth of Clyde is a tremendously scenic place and I hope some of this comes through in my photographs.
